From Farmers Markets to Full Production: Elixir Sauce Co.’s Next Chapter in Spokane Valley

The Inland Northwest just got a little hotter.

Recently featured in the Spokane Journal of Business, Elixir Sauce Co. officially opened its new production facility in Spokane Valley, marking a major milestone for our small-batch hot sauce company and the local food community we proudly represent.

What started as homemade hot sauce shared among friends has grown into a rapidly expanding regional brand — without sacrificing the handcrafted process that built Elixir from day one.

Built Local. Made by Hand. Still Inspected Pepper by Pepper.

According to the Journal, Elixir Sauce Co. has moved into a 1,300-square-foot production space designed to dramatically increase efficiency while maintaining complete quality control. Even as production scales, every pepper is still inspected and prepared by hand before it ever reaches a bottle.

That commitment matters.

Rather than outsourcing production to large co-packers, Elixir chose to invest in its own facility to ensure flavor consistency, ingredient transparency, and craftsmanship remain at the center of every batch.

Because growth should never mean compromise.

A Spokane Small Business Success Story

Since launching in 2021, Elixir Sauce Co. has doubled sales year after year — selling thousands of bottles annually through farmers markets, restaurants, retailers, and online customers across the Northwest.

Today, Elixir sauces can be found in regional retailers, restaurants, and even airport gift shops, helping introduce travelers to Spokane’s growing food scene.

But the real mission goes deeper:

  • Supporting local agriculture

  • Purchasing Inland Northwest peppers whenever possible

  • Partnering with programs like Vets on the Farm to grow regional chili crops

  • Building collaboration among small businesses

As Sales & Marketing lead John Zagajeski shared in the article, small businesses work better together when community comes first.

Why This Facility Matters (For You)

The new Spokane Valley production space means:

✅ More consistent availability
✅ Faster online order fulfillment
✅ Expanded retail distribution
✅ New recipe collaborations
✅ Future grocery store expansion

Most importantly — it allows Elixir Sauce Co. to keep making sauce the right way, while bringing Inland Northwest flavor to more kitchens across the country.

Sweet heat meets backyard barbecue perfection. This recipe highlights one of our fan favorites: Elixir Rum Honey Habanero, paired with Spiceology Smoky Habanero Honey seasoning for layered heat, caramelization, and bold Northwest flavor.

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops

  • 2 thick-cut bone-in pork chops

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp Elixir Rum Honey Habanero Hot Sauce

  • 1½ tbsp Spiceology Smoky Habanero Honey seasoning

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • Lime wedge

Step 1: Marinate

In a bowl combine:

  • Olive oil

  • Honey

  • Garlic

Coat pork chops thoroughly and marinate for 30–60 minutes.

Step 2: Build the Crust

  • Cook 4–5 minutes per side

  • Internal temp: 145°F

Cast Iron Method

  • Heat skillet until very hot

Step 4: Elixir Finish

Brush lightly with additional Rum Honey Habanero during the final minute of cooking for a glossy spicy glaze.

Rest 5 minutes before serving.
